Mechanical Project Manager

Description

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will represent the client on-site, overseeing all mechanical and building services installations. You’ll ensure delivery of HVAC, process utilities, chilled water, compressed air, and fire protection systems — safely, efficiently, and in line with design, quality, and compliance requirements.

• Coordinate with engineering, quality, electrical, and civil teams
• Act as the client’s on-site representative for mechanical works
• Manage installation of HVAC, process utilities, fire protection, and mechanical plant systems
• Review designs, specifications, technical submissions, and installation methods
• Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, H&S standards, and project requirements
• Produce regular site reports, highlighting progress, issues, risks, and solution
• Oversee daily mechanical construction activities, quality, and contractor performance

Requirements

• Excellent stakeholder, contractor, and project coordination skills
• 8–10 years’ experience in large-scale industrial or manufacturing construction projects
• Gigafactory, automotive, pharmaceutical, or high-tech sector experience desirable
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar
• CSCS / SMSTS or equivalent safety certification preferred
• Proficient with MS Project or similar tools
• Strong background in mechanical/HVAC/process installation and commissioning
