The Role

Overview

Lead design, programming, and commissioning of advanced train control systems for rail projects.

Tasks

-Coordination of project designs with other disciplines including attendance at project meetings. -Prepare construction estimates and engineering budgets. -Review shop drawings, record changes and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors and client representatives as required. -Develop and review design plans and technical specifications. -Developing Control Lines and Route and Aspect Charts.

What You Bring

-10 years’ experience with designing Train Control Systems. -Professional Engineering license (NY, NJ). -BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Experience with train control systems for one or more of the following: commuter rail, subway, freight, light rail systems and street car systems. -Vital and non-vital processor programming. -15 years of experience of the design, construction, testing and commissioning of Train Control Systems and Equipment with an Engineering Firm, Transit Authority or Signaling Equipment Manufacture. -Experience managing/lead designer for signal projects from the conceptual design thru to final commissioning.
