Monitor and track mining progress, identify and address deviations, and recommend reconciliation plans
Assist with continuous improvement in mine planning through the development and maintenance of standards and best practices
Through strategic thinking, manage and create easy-to-follow plans to guide site planning and development
Analyze geological data and recommend optimal extraction sequences and equipment utilization
Provide creative solutions for mine planning and site development as well as cost-effective options for operations management
Perform and/or support mine planning for open pit and sand and gravel operations
Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations to assess the viability of new mining projects
Work with operations management and other operation services groups to develop short, mid-range, and life-of-mine plans for operations quarries, pits, and mines
Collaborate with operations and operations support teams on the execution of mine plans

Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS applications, and Microsoft Office computer skills
Project management and practical application experience; experience in capital project support and/or management
Have 2+ years of experience in mine planning, preferably for aggregate or industrial mineral mining operations
Have experience with exploration drilling and geologic interpretation
Out-of-town travel required (estimated up to 30%)
Superb time management and judgment skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Experience operating UAVs/drones for mine sites, including conducting site surveys and measuring stockpiles. FAA Part 107 certification and experience with Propeller are strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated with the ability to work productively in both individual and group settings
Hold a bachelor’s degree in mining, geological, or civil engineering
Experience in mine planning utilizing Carlson, GEOVIA, and/or MAPTEK Mining software programs; experience with Carlson preferred
Strong commitment to leadership in the Company’s world-class safety culture
Knowledge and experience with Stonemont, Plant Flow, and/or Aggflow software a plus
Possess or can obtain a professional engineering (PE) or geology (PG) license
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing
Have experience in developing mine plans for surface and underground operations
