- Collaborate with other teams to ensure company-wide adherence to applicable laws.
- Train and educate internal teams on relevant legal and compliance topics, ensuring awareness and adherence to updated regulations.
- Research and maintain a deep understanding of landlord-tenant laws, fair housing regulations, and other applicable legal requirements across all states in which Peak Living operates.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all legal matters, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Support special projects related to legal compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal complaints involving Peak Living or our properties.
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local legislation affecting property management and residential operations; recommend updates to policies, procedures, and internal guidelines.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and briefings for executive leadership on legal complaints, compliance trends, and regulatory updates.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end process for legal complaints, including investigation, documentation, coordination with legal counsel (when applicable), and timely response to authorities, residents, or vendors.

- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying legal risks and implementing solutions.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and guide cross-departmental teams.
- 2+ years of experience in a legal, compliance, or property management setting, ideally handling landlord-tenant matters.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with document management systems, compliance software, or project management tools is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local landlord-tenant laws and regulations; experience across multiple states highly preferred.
- Experience in residential property management or multi-state operations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from start to finish.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple legal matters simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field; JD or law-related certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws, eviction procedures, and regulatory compliance processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal information clearly to non-legal teams.
