Tasks

-Installs and fastens metal decking for floors, and roofs -Places structural members under supervision ensuring safe and consistent practices are followed -Responsible for material forecasting for specific tasks -Coordinates with foreman on upcoming work and durations -Teaches and trains the team to perform scope of work to the highest quality standard -Leads by example, providing proper guidance and instructions to ironworking team -Adheres to JE Dunn safety standards -Coordinates and implements safety procedures for tasks -Handles structural components of buildings including beams, columns and other related items -Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards -Modifies existing metal components by cutting or welding to create unique, project specific components -Responsible for completing JE Dunn reports and pre-task planning -Assists in repairing or modifying structural and miscellaneous steel as needed under direction from foremen or project leadership -Welds structural components together ensuring the framework is solid and safe

What You Bring

-Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred) -Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner -Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor. -5+ years commercial construction experience (Preferred) -Reads and understands project plans with applicable scope of work -Expected behavioral standards: Shows up and is ready to work when scheduled Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible Shows respect for yourself and others Works safely Has a can-do attitude -5+ years’ experience in specific trade (Preferred) -Knowledge of all ironworking hand tools, use and own all required hand tools and pouches -Utilizes knowledge of ironworking practices and tools -Basic understanding of principles of layout and construction math -Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. -Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal guidance -Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds -High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) -Ability to provide excellent customer service -May require use of respirator -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally -Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches) -Proficient in various types of welding -Effective Communication skills, verbal and written -Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work -Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen -Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs -Demonstrates excellent expertise in miscellaneous metalworking, welding and structural assembly -Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Kneeling, Carrying, Swinging, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Balancing
