Description

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The role involves a wide range of cleaning tasks throughout the building, from floors and carpets to restrooms and high‑touch surfaces. Janitors must also maintain cleaning supplies, document completed work, and report any safety or maintenance issues.

• Clean interior surfaces including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and furniture.
• Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture and dust lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
• Empty and clean trash cans, ashtrays, and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Disinfect high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and restock restrooms, including replenishing supplies.
• Wash windows and mirrors; clean snow and debris from sidewalks when needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements as required.
• Record cleaned areas on a cleaning chart and report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
• Follow safety and precaution rules; lift up to 50 lb and close doors at the end of night shift.
• Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment properly.
