The Journeyman Electrician leads service, troubleshooting, installation, inspection, repair, and preventive/predictive maintenance of electrical systems in buildings, facilities, and electric vehicle charging stations. They work on both low‑voltage and high‑voltage systems, including fire‑life safety, PA, security, control, robotic, micro‑grid, and related equipment.
Key duties involve installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing commercial and industrial electrical and EV charging systems using hand and power tools; measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and terminating wire, conduit, and cable; troubleshooting circuits, building control panels from drawings, and preparing schematics of wiring locations.
The electrician develops and follows electrical safety job plans, JSA/JHA, and complies with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local safety protocols. They communicate effectively with facility, engineering, and supervisory teams and must respond to emergencies within one hour, including after‑hours rotations.
Applicants must hold a current California Journeyman Electrician license (license number required) and have at least five years of post‑certification experience, with a minimum of two years on EV charging systems. Required knowledge includes NEC, NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, 72, lock‑out/tag‑out, PPE, and the ability to read electrical drawings. Availability for on‑call emergencies, shift work, and physical tasks such as climbing and working in low‑light areas is essential.
The hourly rate for this role ranges from $60.10 to $65.00, depending on experience, skills, location, and market data. The position follows a morning shift, Monday through Friday. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package for front‑line team members.
