Requirements

• Effective multi-stakeholder management skills, including internally and externally.
• Competence and experience in applying detailed knowledge of water quality chemistry.
• Ability to manage technically complex large water environmental projects.
• Understanding of remediation techniques for contaminated ground and surface water.
• Ability to clearly present complex technical information visually and orally.
• Ability to effectively manage resources and prioritise own and others’ workload.
• Ability to prioritise and manage significant operational demands and pressures.
• Client-facing, opportunistic and comfortable with developing new work.
• Experience of technical engagement with UK environmental regulators
• Experience in managing proposals and winning work of a sizeable value.
• Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of the sources, fates, effects, and assessment of pollutants.
• Experience of environmental discharge permitting.
• People management experience, involving supporting the development of staff through mentoring.
• Collaborative people manager who has ability to develop and support others.
• Strong project and programme management/direction skills to ensure a high level of service.
• Understanding of the links between water quality and aquatic ecology.
• An environmentally related degree (ideally with a post-graduate qualification also).
• Excellent understanding of the UK water industry and its regulation.
• A clean full UK driving licence.
