Technical Designer - Critical Facilities - Junior

Description

As a Junior Technical Designer you will engage in all project phases—from conceptual design through construction documents and implementation—working closely with design teams, clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies. You will develop presentation materials, support construction administration to preserve design intent, and contribute to office initiatives and learning programs.

Requirements

Gensler Chicago’s Cities Studio is seeking emerging architecture professionals for its Critical Facilities team. The firm’s community‑focused approach uses design to promote equity, resilience and wellbeing, and offers a collaborative environment for junior designers to grow.

The role requires strong organization, creativity, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects, with proficiency in Revit and other digital tools, a portfolio, and a degree in architecture. Candidates should have 0‑5 years experience and a passion for sustainable design. • Maintain strong organization, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrate advanced Revit skills and proficiency with additional digital design tools.
• Showcase a portfolio of work and hold a professional architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Bring 0–5 years of architectural project experience and a passion for sustainable design certifications (LEED, FitWell, etc.).
