Perform research for land surveying deliverables.
Assist in the preparation of maps and plans from survey data.
Attend departmental or technical meetings to keep informed of new survey technological trends and innovations.
Perform routine and/or less complex survey work and assist with more complex land surveys including boundary surveys, horizontal and vertical control surveys, photogrammetric surveys, and construction staking.
Solve the more routine and less complex surveying problems using COGO applications, Civil 3D, and/or handheld software.
Assist in the preparation of corrections for submitted maps, plans, and legal descriptions.
Determine completeness and accuracy of data sources to ensure quality of information in automated systems.
Assist survey crew and provide information in compliance with department rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
Works effectively with internal leaders and peers, as well as external clients.
Assist in the post-processing of data collected for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
Assist and support higher level staff to organize, prioritize, and prepare variety of complex surveying documents.
Assist in the review, preparation and/or determination of parcel and subdivision maps, lot line adjustment plats, corner records, record of survey maps, traverse reports, and right-of-way.
Perform the more routine/less complex surveying math and calculations.
Perform various field land surveying activities that include monument reconnaissance, monument preservation, monument resets, construction staking, topographic surveying, etc.
Maintain survey related records, notes, maps, and other pertinent documents.
Organize work, set priorities, and follow up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned survey work.
Interpret and establish compliance with state and local regulations.
Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially complex assignments, modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. Work is completed using advanced techniques and principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.
Provide survey information to the client regarding projects and programs on an as-needed basis.
Draft and/or map various land surveying related documents and/or exhibits using Autodesk Civil 3D software as directed.
Assist in the preparation of legal descriptions and technical correspondence.
Operate and maintain a variety of surveying equipment, instruments, and software, including robotic total stations, global positioning systems, data collection devices, and point processing software.
