Assisting in planning and implementing field programs, evaluating collected information; preparing professional reports, and ensuring quality assurance and quality control.
Working with contractors to execute Phase 2 ESAs, remediation and reclamation projects.
Completing file reviews and reporting of Environmental Site Assessments, including but not limited to Phase 1 and 2 ESA reports, remediation reports, detailed site assessment reports and reclamation certificate application compilation.
Provide support to the Human Health risk assessment team, and
Field programs can include, but not limited to, vegetation monitoring and maintenance, Phase 1 ESA site visits, Phase 2 ESAs, assisting in detailed site assessments and in pre-reclamation assessments.
Participating in technical and safety programs quality assurance and quality control.
Development of cost estimates based on project requirements and client needs.
File compilation, organization of field data, interpretation of laboratory results.
Undertaking groundwater monitoring and sampling for various facilities.
This individual should expect to spend some of their work time at client sites, each trip lasting anywhere from 1 to 10 days. This individual may conduct assessments at industrial or commercial facilities, brownfield sites and/or greenfield sites in varying locations (remote to urban). In some cases, the field work may include carrying sampling equipment;

Be able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.
Directly applicable post-secondary education /Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; and
Ability to work varying shifts, including the occasional evening and night; and
Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients; this may include pre-access drug, alcohol and fitness testing, and
Knowledge of environmental industry’s best practices.
Office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as fieldwork.
Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization is required.
Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Understanding of the Alberta Tier 1 and Tier 2 guideline documents and/or equivalent documents from other jurisdictions as required.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Possess a valid, non-GDL Class 5 Drivers license.
Understanding of the environmental site assessment process including applying risk-based approaches.
Experience in assessment and remediation through one to two (1-2) years of experience, preferably in the environmental consulting industry.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite.
