What you would be doing

- Liaise with the wider finance team and other divisions e.g. Procurement, Property, Construction, etc.
- Support the monthly close process
- Liaise with suppliers and reconcile supplier statements
- Collaborate across departments to assist with the preparation of budget data
- Evaluation and set up of key suppliers
- Contribute and drive good financial discipline within the organisation
- Review company credit card expenditure
- Liaise with Tax function on matters including VAT, RCT, PSWT
- Ensure appropriate controls and approvals in place before costs are incurred
- Support the implementation and automation of the PO system
- Support the internal and external audit functions
- Present payments listings to AP Lead and Head of Finance for approval

- Accounting systems knowledge e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP
- Sage 200c experience
- Strong analytical, research & issue resolution abilities necessary
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a wider team
- Strong Accounts Payable background with at least 3 years’ work experience in a similar role, preferably within a large organisation
- Results orientated and experience working to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Attention to detail is a key attribute, and ability to follow established processes and procedures
- Highly organised and focused
- Industry exposure; knowledge of construction industry/property development or capital investment projects is a distinct advantage
- Experience working within a medium sized finance team
- Business or Accounting qualification
