• Communicate BIM progress, issues, and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Influence project strategies by demonstrating the value of structured information management.
• Monitor BIM deliverables against programme and quality milestones.

• Identify opportunities for process optimisation and innovation through digital technologies.
• Oversee model federation, clash detection, and coordination processes, ensuring accuracy and data quality.
• Act as the primary BIM liaison for internal teams, alliance partners, and the client.
• Ensure models and data comply with project standards, client requirements, and industry protocols (ISO 19650).
• Promote collaboration through efficient model-sharing protocols and common data environment (CDE) management.
• Champion BIM capability across project teams by providing guidance, coaching, and training.
• Develop and implement strategies to build digital literacy and confidence in BIM workflows.
• Support the achievement of VSL’s digital transformation and project certainty objectives.
• Lead and coordinate BIM workflows across all project stages (design, construction, commissioning, handover).
• Mentor discipline leads on integrating BIM and digital tools into their day-to-day project activities.
• Preservation, structural repairs, renovation and optimization of structures.
• Ensure lessons learned and best practices are captured and shared across projects.
• Impactful Work: Lead digital engineering on one of the UK’s most complex and high-profile clean energy projects.
• Establish, implement, and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and supporting documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• Proven experience in BIM management or digital engineering leadership on major infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Collaborative and adaptable, able to engage effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Proficiency in BIM authoring and coordination platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D).
• Ability to interpret and enforce BIM requirements across supply chain partners.
• Strong understanding of BIM standards, ISO 19650, and data exchange formats (IFC, COBie).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to drive cultural and behavioural change.
• Experience managing CDE platforms (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360, Aconex).
• Strong background in developing and implementing BIM strategies across multidisciplinary environments.
