This hybrid position allows a mix of remote and on-site work. As the electrical team lead you will guide engineers and designers in creating, modifying, and analyzing electrical systems that support nuclear material processing, waste treatment, storage, disposal, and commercial nuclear power plants. The role involves challenging assignments that require designing, investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
You will coordinate detailed design phases, ensure installations meet specifications, codes, and client requirements, and drive projects to successful, on-time, on-budget completion. Responsibilities include preparing calculations, master diagrams, and specifications, interfacing with vendors, and delivering clear technical reports that comply with S&L formats.
The Government Services Division provides engineering design and consulting support to DOE sites and national laboratories, focusing on environmental management and nuclear security missions. Teams design facilities and systems that treat, store, and dispose of nuclear waste and safely handle nuclear material, delivering mission-critical work that is both meaningful and challenging.
The position requires U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain U.S. government and DOE “Q” security clearances, and a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program (MSEE preferred). Candidates must have at least 12 years of experience in electrical system design for commercial power, DOE, nuclear Navy, or NNSA projects, with three years of proven leadership of engineering design teams, and a desire to obtain PE licensure.

The compensation range for this role is $131,960 to $205,330, with a total package that may include a discretionary annual bonus. Sargent & Lundy transparently discloses salary ranges in compliance with local and state regulations.
