Senior Laboratory Technician

Description

• Support maintenance, calibration, purchase, and certification of equipment.
• Maintain laboratory certifications for CCIL and CMEC.
• Promote safe work practices for laboratory activities.
• Mentoring, coaching and training of technical staff as required.
• Perform advanced laboratory testing on soils and concrete
• Perform quality control reviews of laboratory testing and reporting.
• Perform laboratory testing of soils, rock, aggregate, concrete and asphalt.

Requirements

• Strong focus on Health and Safety.
• Have experience with laboratory soil, concrete, and asphalt testing procedures.
• Current registration with TechNova or Engineers Nova Scotia and hold designation as C.Tech., C.E.T., P.Tech.(Eng.)
• CCIL Certification for soils, concrete, and asphalt would be and asset.
• Have knowledge of soil, concrete and asphalt sampling techniques and construction methodology.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be a team player with a strong ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
