The role is accountable for analyzing, designing, and optimizing power systems, including conducting comprehensive studies such as power flow, short‑circuit, transients, stability, arc‑flash, harmonics, and grounding using ETAP software. Candidates with knowledge of DIgSILENT and PSCAD can collaborate on network modeling, steady‑state, and dynamic analyses. Responsibilities also include basic and detailed engineering for power system and balance‑of‑plant equipment—transformers, switchgear, and cables—across sectors like maintenance & operations and oil & gas. The engineer will review contracts, prepare specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders, and actively participate in project discussions and technical report reviews.
The position requires continuous identification of improvement opportunities in processes, tools, system solutions, and technologies, with implementation supported by leadership. Strict adherence to company and customer EHS policies, as well as international standards, is mandatory. Collaboration with other GEV business units, Platform Engineering, Technology, Value Engineering, and Supply Chain is essential to maximize synergy and support project objectives.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and have at least three years of experience in power systems, project or system engineering within industry, marine, oil & gas, or power domains. Proficiency in power system tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT (PowerFactory), PSCAD, and PSSE, along with strong analytical problem‑solving skills, is required. Familiarity with MS Office, and preferably PLM and Primavera, is an added advantage. The role demands the ability to adapt, multitask, and apply international standards throughout project execution.
The ideal candidate collaborates effectively in a matrix environment, demonstrates a passionate willingness to learn, and exhibits self‑motivation, creativity, and strong teamwork. Excellent personal organization, oral and written communication, and interpersonal abilities are needed to manage multiple tasks across projects within strict timeframes. A proactive approach to identifying best practices, strong prioritization, and time‑management skills are essential. Willingness to travel on short notice, both domestically and overseas, for short‑ and long‑term assignments is expected.
