This is a maintenance position with no per diem. An Industrial Mechanic will install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery at an industrial power plant, working on small engines, motors, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
The role involves working with industry‑specific, high‑complexity equipment, planning and documenting the work scope, replacing gaskets, dismantling machines with hand tools, and assembling and installing shafting, conveyors, and tram rails. The mechanic also fastens machinery to foundations using bolts, welds, and rivets, operates lathes, grinders, and files, fabricates parts by measuring, cutting, drilling, and welding, and uses rigging equipment to move machinery into position.
Successful candidates have a proven industrial construction/maintenance background, knowledge of hand and power tools, industrial machinery, load properties, and math concepts. They demonstrate problem‑solving, manual dexterity, teamwork, independent work, and strong communication while adhering to Zachry safety values. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights, and wearing required PPE in all weather conditions.
