Serve as the primary client contact to understand goals, ensure the project meets their needs and specifications.
Responsible for preparing contracts and proposals, including establishing the scope of work, schedules, and fees. Prepare and submit proposals to clients. Participate in new project interviews.
Mentor team members across surveying.
Manage, lead, and oversee all team activities, including documents, client management, internal team management, and project financials.
Conduct regular 1:1’s with staff and performance reviews in alignment with the performance management cycle.
The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
Monitor project health by reviewing project plans, budgets, billings, schedule, and progress, resolve problems, and coordinate all project activities. Course correct with team members to make sure project objectives are met (including other departments and sub-consultants).
Participate in new hire interviews and staffing selection.
Responsible for completing personal timecards accurately and reviewing and approving associate timecards on time.
Be an ambassador for EPS at industry events and conferences. May require attending project team and public meetings after hours.
Responsible for specific technical survey components in their area of expertise. May include preparing advanced subdivision plats, condo maps, legal descriptions and exhibits, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and construction services.
Balance staffing and workload through collaboration with the team.
Increase the team's overall effectiveness by developing staff, aligning individual team member strengths with appropriate project tasks, identifying potential obstacles (both internal and external), and performing reviews.
Initiate lunch and learn for sharing new technology or best practices.
Assist in the execution of strategic initiatives.
Develop project timelines, including phases, completion dates, and milestones, and establish workflow and project plan.
Evaluate company practices and processes to provide input for continuous improvement.
Provide quality assurance and control. Provide direction to technical staff on project issues and general surveying principles.
Responsible for invoice management, including change orders and additional services.
Responsible for resource management for the project team.
Mentor team members on identifying conflicts and unusual data points.
Effectively delegate tasks to allow for an increased focus on management tasks.
Lead project kickoff and closeout meetings and lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external partners as needed.
Delegate project tasks to team members promptly, provide clear direction on tasks and expectations on deliverables, and establish clear deadlines with team member affirmation.
Monitor the work of team members to ensure that they adhere to industry standards and best practices.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a high level of emotional intelligence with the ability to interface both in person and remotely (videoconferencing, phone, etc.).
Registered Land Surveyor License required (PLS)
Must demonstrate the ability to closely monitor project progress.
Actively involved in developing future business and building relationships with existing clients.
Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam.
The position requires a normal range of hearing.
Communicate effectively (written and verbal) internally (interdepartmental and intradepartmental) and externally (inclusive of clients, sub-consultants, municipalities).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying.
