The HS&E Advisor role, based in Chichester, supports the Framework HS&E Manager with health, safety and environmental matters across the region. The role embeds the HS&E strategy, drives behavioural change, and ensures legal and internal compliance on projects.
- Promote a strong, inclusive HS&E culture across all operational activities.
- Support implementation of HS&E strategy and systems across the framework.
- Provide technical HS&E advice and support to site and project teams.
- Ensure effective implementation of the HS&E Management System.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, supply chain and regulators.
- Monitor performance using HS&E KPIs and support continuous improvement.
- Support incident investigations and ensure effective close‑out of actions.
- Report HS&E performance and issues to the Framework HS&E Manager.
- Undertake site inspections, audits and compliance checks.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar HS&E role within construction, infrastructure or utilities, hold or be working towards a NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate, and possess a good understanding of HSE legislation. Strong communication, influencing skills, a proactive solutions‑focused approach and competence in Microsoft Office are required, along with a full UK driving licence.
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards).
- Experience within a regulated or infrastructure environment (water industry desirable).
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence operations positively.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
- Competency in Microsoft Office systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
- Member of IOSH or IIRSM (desirable).
- Working towards TechIOSH / CMIOSH (desirable).
- NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline (desirable).
