The Service Lead will coordinate planned and corrective offshore wind service activities, providing team leadership and full responsibility for preparing work to meet SQDC targets. Working offshore on a rotation from the Port of Tyne, the role is part of a two‑person service lead team covering task readiness, parts and tool preparation, crew allocation, and progress reporting.
Key duties include ensuring safe turbine maintenance, managing emergency response plans, leading the vessel‑based operational team, and acting as the primary customer liaison for day‑to‑day matters and monthly reporting. The Service Lead also coordinates administrative tasks such as tracking site activities, planning technician levels, handling requisitions, and preparing tooling and equipment for daily deployments, while driving continuous improvement and supporting recruitment and talent development.
The position requires predominantly offshore work on the Doggerbank project and involves international travel, with occasional duties at the Port of Tyne O&M base or other GE sites as needed.
Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience coordinating workloads and working parties, be capable of offshore work, and ideally have offshore wind maintenance experience. They should thrive in a cross‑functional, global environment, be fluent in English, and possess strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
Technical skills required include proven offshore wind or related discipline experience, high motivation as a self‑starter, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and established project management and team‑leadership capabilities.
Applications from candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK will be considered, although the role may be filled by a candidate who does not require sponsorship if such a candidate is suitably qualified.
