Maintain accurate records, including training logs, equipment registers, quality assurance data, and standard operating procedures.
Carry out first-line troubleshooting, maintenance and quality checks on POCT equipment, escalating issues and removing unsafe or faulty devices as necessary.
Provide comprehensive support to the Point of Care Testing (POCT) team and service users, ensuring equipment is safely maintained, reliable, and compliant with Trust policies.
Your role is to assist in the maintenance, evaluation, staff training and documentation of all POCT equipment under the guidance of the Biomedical Scientist Point of Care Testing (POCT) Specialist.
Work independently across Trust sites, upholding health and safety standards, confidentiality, and professional conduct whilst supporting continuous service improvement.
Deliver structured training and competency assessments for nursing, medical and laboratory staff in the safe and effective use of POCT devices.
Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals, suppliers and the POCT Specialist, ensuring timely communication of issues, service improvements and operational needs.
Participate in internal and external quality management programmes, including audits, inspections and evaluation of new devices or techniques.

- Knowledge of lab quality standards.
