We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to shape the design and development of Transurban’s Customer, Billing and Collections platform. In this role you will champion best‑practice engineering, ensuring the platform evolves with performance, reliability and scalability at its core, while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Design and develop new features for the Customer, Billing and Collections platform.
- Conduct root cause analysis, resolve defects, and improve performance.
- Define and operationalise engineering code management for the Java domain.
- Align technical direction across teams as a key connector.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and technical partners.

- Proven experience building enterprise‑scale Java applications using J2EE (JSP, JMS, JPA).
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Batch and Hibernate.
- Integration experience with Oracle and MySQL databases.
- Knowledge of Agile, CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with Oracle CC&B (v2.4 or higher) is a plus.
- Ability to influence architecture, contribute to technical roadmaps and engage senior architects.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
