PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / GEOLOGIST

Description

• Develop the scope of environmental assessment and remediation projects from our diverse portfolio and manage budgets
• Review and approve vendor work proposals and invoices
• Prepare and review of new clientele proposals for federal, state, and private industry
• Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate technical and health and safety procedures are being followed
• Write project reports, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare final reports to be submitted for Senior and clients review
• Prepare and review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local agencies

Requirements

• Technical writing competency and computer literacy
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies
• Ability to work individually and as a team member
• Ability to travel within the western regional US
• Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines
• Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of the consulting business
• Strong commitment to Safety and staff development
• Professional Registration/Certification or ability to attain within two years of hire
• In-depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking
• Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification or willingness and ability to obtain in 6 - 12 months (will pay for study and testing materials)
• Motivated self-starter and ability to perform periodic field work
• Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with site operations
• Consulting experience
• Strong problem solving, research, and communication skills
• Advanced technical capabilities associated with the specific field of expertise
• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, earth or environmental science related field
• Willingness to conduct Business Development activities
• Three or More years of experience in geological assessments, water supply, water treatment, environmental assessments, contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, storm water management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors
• Possess ability to effectively manage personnel and administrative functions
