- PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Add Chemicals to the wastewater effluent to reduce H2S, such as sodium hypochlorite
- Repairs, lubricates machines and equipment
- Perform on-call duties and respond to emergencies after hours
- Inspect pumps, sump pumps; prime pumps as needed
- Maintain and monitor pumps and equipment
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
- Collect and Tests wastewater samples
- Develop maintenance schedules and assign duties to workers
- including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Read charts and gauges and record data monitoring plant processes
- Cleans wet wells

- Experience operating vacuum trucks
- Some combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Adaptable and flexible in work situations
- Ability to use testing tools and equipment such as colorimeter, turbidimeter, conductivity meter
- Specialized training and experience in the trade of Wastewater Collections or Treatment Plant Operations
- Valid driver's license compliant with the REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)/ Class B with tanker certification
- Wastewater Treatment Certification I or II
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check to obtain base access
- Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort
- U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
- Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used; applicable safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
- Able to read and understand operation/equipment manuals.
- Some lifting to include overhead lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (10-20 pounds)
