The job is responsible for providing training and assistance to line and training organizations on analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation activities. It assesses training effectiveness through self‑assessment, feedback and evaluation, and seeks innovative solutions to effectively train personnel while ensuring client groups maintain accreditation.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates client training needs/materials to improve performance.
- Conducts and documents training according to plant procedures, work instructions, and industry best practices.
- Coordinates training self‑assessments and develops the Accreditation Self‑Evaluation Report submitted biennially to INPO.
- Assists in maintaining accreditation for all training programs accredited by INPO and the National Academy of Nuclear Training.
- Evaluates instructor and trainee progress, course effectiveness, and performance issues to improve training.
- Coaches and mentors instructors for consistency and compliance with training requirements.
- Evaluates and qualifies all instructors through the accreditation program process.
- Participates and supports client groups with analysis and evaluation activities.
- Facilitates the site‑wide Leadership Development Program.
- Identifies and evaluates human performance issues in the Training Department and assists client groups with proper implementation.
- Reviews control of work processes and procedures for quality and efficiency and implements revisions as needed.
- Participates, if necessary, as an ERO member and responds to call‑ins.
- Effectively prepares and conducts classroom presentations.
- Meets regulatory requirements per Fermi Procedures.

Testing Required: Not Applicable. On‑Site Role: Must be available to work on‑site at the assigned location. Emergency Response: Yes – must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
This position meets a multi‑track base requirement: a high school diploma or GED with ten years of instructional experience, a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field with six years of experience, or a master’s degree in education or a related field with four years of experience. Any of these education‑experience combinations satisfy the minimum requirements.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience working in a nuclear power plant. Candidates must be able to pass all phases of in‑processing, understand INPO academy manuals, prepare and conduct classroom presentations, communicate well with all management levels, know the SAT systematic approach to training, and meet regulatory requirements per Fermi procedures.
- High School diploma or GED with ten years of instructional or instructional‑technology experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with six years of instructional or instructional‑technology experience.
- Master’s degree in education or related field with four years of instructional or instructional‑technology experience.
- Passes all phases of in‑processing, including background investigation, psychological screening, radiation/respiratory training, and drug/alcohol screening.
- Understands INPO academy manuals related to training programs.
- Communicates well with all levels of management.
- Knowledge of the SAT systematic approach to training process.
