Support innovative ideas to solve Cold Section design problems.
As appropriate, support field commissioning, lab tests, and associated data-processing.
Actively participate in technical reviews for design tasks with Controlled Title Holders (CTHs), following the documented NPI and RCA processes. Support to evaluate and mitigate component/system level risks.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including PSE/CSE, Field Services, Controlled Title Holders, Systems, Operability, Performance, Reliability, MYA, Heat Transfer, GTE Design, Controls, Accessories, PDE, Materials, Global Supply Chain, Quality, and Repair.
Apply knowledge of gas turbine design and systems to implement field solutions which enhance durability, reliability, repairability, performance, operational flexibility, emissions, and value.
Practice and apply Lean and continuous improvement. Develop standard work and identify creative ways to improve our processes and design methods.
Maintain strong relationships with Gas Turbine Engineering (GTE) teams. Keep abreast of New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) designs which will be fielded soon.
Deliver high quality Field issue resolution and design support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations. Support/own deliver RCA and Corrective Action & Preventive Actions (CAPA) on time to committed dates.
Apply basic design fundamentals, leverage hand calcs, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for analysis supporting RCAs and/or CAPA deliverables.
