Planning Manager

Description

As a Planning Manager at ALEC FITOUT, you’ll take the lead in managing planning and scheduling functions for some of the most prestigious interior fit-out projects in the region. This is your opportunity to drive project success through expert coordination, programme control, and stakeholder engagement.

This role sits within the Planning Department and reports directly to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager. The department is responsible for comprehensive project planning, controls, and reporting across the lifecycle of interior fit-out works. You’ll collaborate closely with construction managers, commercial teams, site engineers, and senior leadership to ensure the seamless execution of project programmes.

• Set up activities, coding structures, milestone schedules, and project calendars with construction teams.
• Conduct delay analysis and collaborate with construction managers to suggest recovery actions.
• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, establish critical paths, and manage resource allocations.
• Lead overall planning reporting to senior management, highlighting risks and proposing solutions.
• Coordinate subcontractor programmes ensuring alignment with project master schedules.
• Monitor site progress, record actuals, prepare progress reports, and highlight potential bottlenecks.
• Mentor, train, and manage the Planning Team, ensuring high standards of delivery.

Requirements

Are you a strategic planning leader with a passion for delivering complex construction and high-end fit-out projects on time and within budget?

• Expertise: Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office Suite, and exposure to CCS or equivalent planning software.
• Experience in delay analysis, subcontractor coordination, and RED FILE compliance is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of project planning experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the museum construction or high-end fit-out sector.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of planning methodologies, scheduling tools, and programme controls specific to interiors and large-scale construction projects.
