Operate and maintain laboratory instruments (pipettes, PCs, thermal cyclers, sequencers, liquid handling instruments, etc.).
Participate in developing and updating SOPs and work instructions.
Troubleshoot and correct issues following SOPs and ISO 17025 criteria.
Contribute to validation of new procedures and instruments.
Review LIMS summary reports to plan and organize daily workloads.
Maintain a high level of accuracy in sample handling, preparation, and analysis.
Meet turnaround times (TAT) and ensure samples are analyzed within holding times.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory activities.
Conduct basic microbiological testing according to method requirements.
Support continuous improvements to laboratory efficiency and cost control.
Provide guidance or training to junior staff as needed.
Collaboration with Laboratory Operations, Customer Service, and Sample Logistics teams.
Prepare standards, reagents, media, and ensure adequate supply levels.
Identify non-routine samples and seek guidance as needed.
Follow all BV safety programs, PPE requirements, and health & safety regulations.
Participate in internal/external audits, safety meetings, and lab meetings when required.
Document sample deviations, non-conformances, or process deviations.
Handling of hazardous materials following proper safety procedures.
Apply proper aseptic techniques to avoid mislabeling, cross-contamination, or mix-ups.
Provide updates to the Supervisor regarding workstation status and delays.
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
Perform sample preparation steps and required procedures prior to analysis.

Strong computer skills (LIMS experience is an asset).
Post-secondary education in a scientific discipline (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related).
Requires patience, focus, and consistency.
Excellent manual dexterity (pipetting, precise handling).
Detail-oriented with strong time-management and organizational skills.
Experience performing aseptic laboratory procedures.
Strong record-keeping, documentation, and calculation skills.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices for hazardous materials.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Fast-paced production lab environment with repetitive tasks.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
