The role involves leading a cost‑management team, interfacing with clients, stakeholders and consultants throughout project stages, and performing quantity surveying, cost controls and change management activities. You will coordinate with contractors, owners’ representatives and external parties, manage commercial reporting, drive best practice, and identify improvements to procedures and templates. Additional duties include staff performance reviews, talent development, financial management using internal software, risk mitigation planning, and ensuring compliance with business management systems and SOX controls.
Turner & Townsend are looking for an experienced Associate Director Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management services for a key client or several clients. This individual will ensure successful management of both internal and external stakeholders and deliver cost management services. Success in this role requires great communication skills and comfort in a client‑facing environment. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, driven, able to work independently and as part of a team, and will provide leadership, embed and promote Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision.
A bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a related field is required, with a graduate degree preferred. Minimum eight years of relevant cost‑management experience in construction, preferably in consultancy, and RICS or equivalent accreditation are required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent presentation, verbal, written and organizational communication skills.
