Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Full clean driving licence.
Proficiency in hydraulic modelling and design software (e.g. HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, or InfoWorks ICM).
Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body is desirable.
Comprehensive knowledge of flood risk management principles, hydrology, and drainage design standards.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (Master’s in Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydrogeomorphology, or Flood Risk Management advantageous).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on Local Authority and/or OPW-led flood relief projects or equivalent.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, allocate resources effectively, and deliver to deadlines.
Working knowledge of Public Works Contracts and other forms of construction contracts.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across disciplines.
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.
Experience in preparing environmental and statutory approval documentation including FRAs, WFD Assessments, and hydrology chapters for EIARs.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in flood risk management and drainage engineering, covering feasibility, detailed design, planning, procurement, and construction contract administration of flood relief projects.
