Roadway Practice Builder

Description

The Practice Builder will be responsible for expanding the firm’s presence in the local roadway, highway, and municipal market, overseeing complex design tasks, and driving business development activities. They will manage project delivery profitably, maintain strong client relationships, and provide strategic vision and goal-setting for the practice. Leadership includes fostering open communication, transitioning work to qualified staff, and acting as a mentor and positive leader.

• Expand practice presence in Phoenix’s roadway, highway, and municipal sectors.
• Lead complex engineering design, marketing, and client-engagement initiatives.
• Manage project design and delivery profitably while addressing design issues.
• Operate with integrity, provide vision, business planning, and set goals.
• Build and maintain positive client relationships and foster open communication.
• Grow and lead the roadway practice, mentoring staff and transitioning work to qualified team members.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least eight years of experience managing roadway projects and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license. A proven track record of winning and delivering work in the region, deep knowledge of the full project lifecycle, and established relationships with local agencies are essential. Strong abilities in proposal writing, budgeting, and team leadership are also required.

• Minimum 8 years managing roadway projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proven success winning and delivering projects in the local market.
• Full-life-cycle roadway project expertise and relationships with local agencies/municipalities.
• Knowledge of civil design for local roads, urban freeways, and interchanges.
• Ability to manage projects profitably while leading teams and stakeholders.
• Experience drafting proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
