The engineer will provide design and consulting services for transmission facilities, including line layout, foundations, structure configuration, and conductor specifications. Responsibilities also cover substation and control house design, code‑compliant design reviews, site inspections, documentation, data analysis, electrical calculations, and preparation of technical reports and visualizations while maintaining quality‑control standards and ethical decision‑making.
- Design transmission line layouts, foundations, structures, and conductor specifications
- Prepare project specifications for material and equipment procurement
- Deliver substation and control house designs meeting industry standards
- Review internal and external designs for code compliance and constructability
- Resolve site queries, attend meetings, and perform construction‑phase inspections
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and as‑built records
- Coordinate design activities with multidisciplinary project teams
- Collect and analyze data for procurement packages and regulatory compliance
- Develop electrical calculations for loads, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, and lighting
- Create tables, charts, sketches, and reports to visualize project data
- Support senior engineers with research and recommendations on equipment and field applications
- Ensure quality control through precise measurements and statistical reporting

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or a related engineering field, possess at least seven years of experience designing transmission lines, and have or be able to obtain a Professional Engineering license. Required skills include proficiency with PLS‑CADD, design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD, strong communication abilities, knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and NERC standards, and a proven safety record.

- 7+ years of transmission line design experience in utility or industrial settings
- Professional Engineering licensure or eligibility to obtain
- Proficiency with PLS‑CADD and design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
- Experience with project controls, reporting, and agency regulator coordination
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills
- Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NERC, and other relevant engineering codes and regulations
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities for technical analysis
- Proven workplace safety compliance record
