Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include all scheduling, resources, and information for complex engineering
Promote engineering professionalism and standards
Develop project design alternatives and corresponding cost estimates
Coordinate effectively with governmental and regulatory agencies and contractors
Prepare project construction documents such as plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material, and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material
Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department, or external entities to complete transmission projects
Identify and initiate corrective action when transmission line project objectives are not being met
Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
Utilize PLS-CADD to model transmission line design projects.
Function as an engineering project lead for transmission projects
Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects
Provide leadership to facilitate project completion, to train and mentor other engineers, and to develop measurable work area goals and objectives
Attend contractor bid and construction meetings and assist in ensuring that work activities are performed safely and in accordance with plans and established schedules, and in accordance with AEP policies, rules and standards, and in compliance with external regulations
Design new transmission line facilities with voltages ranging between 69 kV and 765 kV
