Head of Test

Description

As Head of Test within MAG Tech, you will lead up to 20 test engineers, set the strategic direction for testing and quality assurance across all projects, and ensure technology deliverables meet the highest standards. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will embed best‑practice methodologies, drive automation and work closely with engineering, product and business partners to integrate testing throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Extensive testing expertise in complex systems and modern methodologies
• Proficiency with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI)
• Experience testing hybrid cloud and SaaS environments
• Strong automation mindset; design, implement and optimise automated test suites
• Proven leadership and people‑management, building high‑performing test teams
• Ability to devise and execute testing plans for regulated and critical infrastructure projects
• Clear stakeholder engagement across engineering, architecture, operations and change teams
• Robust risk‑management and analytical skills for defect prioritisation and release readiness
