Field Service Engineer

Description

• Inspect critical components including tubes, headers, drums, casing, ducting and structural elements. Collect data on component failures to determine the root cause.
• Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and proposals.
• Provide technical support during repair or replacement activities.
• Identify and document various degradation mechanisms such as creep, fatigue, corrosion erosion, overheating, and mechanical damage.
• Preparation of work method statements, inspection procedures, erection procedure and schedules.
• Ensure all safety protocols are maintained and adhered to during the inspection tasks at site by self and by the team.
• Plan, schedule, and execute detailed internal and external visual inspections of Boilers during planned outages and overhauls.
• Study Technical Contracts to understand the Project requirements and to raise query in case of any observation
• Prepare detailed, clear, and concise inspection reports including photographic evidence and relevant data, findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• The manufacture and maintenance of boiler parts, in particular pressure parts in its specialized workshops.
• Aftersales services, technical assistance, inspections from the rehabilitation to the modernization of all types and brands of boilers;
• Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes (e.g., ASME, IBR), inspection technologies, and degradation mechanisms.
• Co-ordinate with sub- contractors/ third parties to ensure timely execution of site activities.
• Coordinate and oversee specialized NDT activities with NDT technicians.
• Collect operational data and historical inspection data.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective client interaction and teamwork.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client sites located globally (estimated 60-80% travel).
• Strong Analytical, problem solving and Presentation Skill
• Heat Recovery steam generators, particularly suited to operate in cycles with frequent start-ups and shut-downs. They can be installed behind gas turbines of all power ratings, brands and burning all types of fuel;
• Must have knowledge of Measuring Tools used at Erection Sites
• Should be able to handle Technical Supervision, inspection independently
• Exposure to NDT techniques and their application
• Industrial boilers destined for sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, biomass, incineration, …
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports.
• Basic understanding of metallurgy, material properties at high temperatures and their failure modes.
• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in power, process plant maintenance, inspection, reliability engineering, or asset integrity management.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Thermal solar receivers (Concentrated Solar Power), that capture the sun’s rays, reflected by mirrors on the ground, and enable to produce energy 24/7 thanks to molten salts;
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
