What you would be doing

Clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and follow operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Perform field materials testing on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives.
Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results. Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness of results required. Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data.
Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage.

High School or GED required, associate's degree preferred, No Bachelors required.
Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing
Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
Able to work under pressure and multitask
Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes
FIELD - Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions. May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items in excess of 20lbs. Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn. Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications within 120 Days preferred
Demonstrate excellent communication skills

ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I within 120 Days preferred
Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills
