Warehouse Operator positions are available on several shifts, including daytime, night, and weekend schedules. The role supports the Small Parts department, reports to the Shift Supervisor, and ensures smooth material flow within the manufacturing environment.
The operator is responsible for handling, moving, and accurately documenting materials throughout the plant, storing and labeling inventory, and interpreting production and shipping orders to support efficient workflows. Regular inventory cycle counts, discrepancy reconciliation, and random quality checks are performed to maintain inventory integrity.
Employees use handheld and desktop computers, specifically the IFS inventory system and Zebra devices, to enter data and generate reports. They also maintain tools, equipment, and safety gear, and actively participate in safety programs and daily equipment inspections.
Candidates must be proficient with computers, possess strong math and communication skills, and be able to read and write legibly. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, spend the majority of the shift standing or walking, and follow all safety and PPE requirements in an outdoor, non‑temperature‑controlled environment.
Preferred applicants have at least one year of forklift experience in a manufacturing or outdoor setting, familiarity with inventory management software, and experience moving materials in a warehouse or yard. A valid Valmont forklift operator license and knowledge of battery hookup and forklift maintenance are also valued.
The position involves extensive physical activity, including operating equipment about 90% of the time, lifting and carrying loads under 50 lb, and frequent standing, stooping, and bending. Working conditions are outdoors and may include exposure to varying weather while adhering to strict safety standards.
