Installation of lighting columns and associated groundwork
Operate specialised equipment such as MEWP’s, and electrical testing devices to access and assess lighting fixtures located at elevated heights.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and equipment inventory.
Respond promptly to reported lighting failures or outages and troubleshoot problems to determine the cause of the issue.
As a Highways Lighting Operative, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of highway lighting systems such as streetlights, traffic signs and other street furniture.
Comply with all health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Your primary goal will be to fix any faulty equipment quickly to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of lighting infrastructure to enhance visibility and road safety for drivers and pedestrians.
Carry out repairs and replacements of electrical components, including wiring, switches, ballasts, and control systems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing lamps, cleaning fixtures, and repairing damaged or malfunctioning lighting components.
Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic flow and adhering to established safety protocols.

You must have a full UK driving licence, a class 2 HGV licence would be a benefit.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and effective interaction with stakeholders and the public.
