The Manager of Land Acquisition will drive division growth by identifying and acquiring strategic land parcels that align with market data, optimize ROI, and mitigate risk. This role works closely with senior leaders to evaluate deals and ensure they meet company thresholds.
Key duties include building relationships with developers, brokers, municipalities and other stakeholders, prospecting for land through mapping and networking, creating proforma analyses, negotiating purchase agreements, and overseeing feasibility packages for the Land Committee.
- Build relationships with developers, brokers, municipalities, attorneys, engineers, planners, and competitors
- Create proforma analyses that meet company investment thresholds
- Negotiate land purchase agreements with senior leader input
- Monitor acquisition and development activity in the assigned area
- Compile, analyze, and present data for Land Committee feasibility packages
- Participate in Land Committee discussions and manage data on HOA/District obligations, taxes, cost‑sharing, permits, and guidelines
- Audit KB Home’s proprietary land database for accuracy
- Lead support staff in preparing reports, analyses, and feasibility packages
- Collaborate with Land Development, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Construction, Customer Service, Mortgage, and Finance teams
- Conduct kick‑off and rollout meetings for new land deals

Ideal candidates bring at least three years of land acquisition, contract negotiation, and relationship‑building experience, with preferred management experience and a background in home building, construction, or real‑estate. Strong market awareness, leadership, communication, and data‑driven decision‑making are essential.
The position is full‑time, requires travel throughout the assigned area, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet physical demands such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 20 lb. Professional and ethical conduct is expected at all times.
- Minimum three years of land acquisition, contract negotiation, and relationship‑building experience

- Experience in home building, construction, or real‑estate industry advantageous
- Strong understanding of market and industry trends
