The E3S Case Delivery Lead role is based in Derby, Manchester or Warrington with hybrid working, and sits within the Safety & Regulatory Affairs department of Rolls‑Royce SMR. This position is pivotal for developing and submitting Environment, Safety, Security and Safeguards (E3S) Cases and Safety Analysis Reports that meet UK and international licensing requirements.
You will lead the creation and governance of Tier 1 E3S Case and Safety Analysis Report documents, manage delivery programmes aligned with licensing schedules, and maintain Claims, Arguments, and Evidence structures. The role also involves collaborating with engineering and analysis teams, engaging regulators and customers, and line‑managing a team of case authors to build capability.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong delivery focus, excellent technical communication, and deep knowledge of safety, environment, or security case development and permitting regulations. Experience with civil nuclear regulatory regimes, technical report writing, and stakeholder engagement across complex projects is essential.
Chartered status (or working towards it) with a professional engineering body is required, though Rolls‑Royce SMR encourages applicants who meet at least 75% of the criteria to apply. The company seeks professionals who can contribute to nuclear safety innovation and regulatory compliance.
Applicants will undergo additional nuclear‑industry screening, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and a basic financial probity assessment. These checks are evaluated individually rather than as simple pass/fail criteria.
The compensation package includes a salary ranging from £57,500 to £75,600, a £2,200 benefit allowance, a 12.5% bonus opportunity, life assurance at six times pensionable salary, income protection at 50%, 28 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and a £250 new‑joiner payment. Flexible and part‑time working options are also provided to support work‑life balance.
