At nVent Management Company, you will find an exciting opportunity to showcase your welding expertise and contribute to our world‑class manufacturing team. In this role you will review blueprints, develop job criteria with the lead staff member, capture necessary materials, and perform layout according to specifications.
You will set up and adjust the welding machine, operate the welding gun to join steel, aluminum and other materials, and visually inspect welds for quality, rewelding defective joints and removing slag, flux and spatter as needed. You will also operate cutting torches or manual plasma cutters, apply weld templates, and notify the lead or inspector when items are ready for inspection, while maintaining a clean work area.
The position requires at least a GED equivalent and a minimum of one year of welding experience or training, as well as the ability to obtain or hold a welding certification and forklift certification. Candidates must be able to read tape measures and blueprints, follow SOPs and work instructions, and pass a welding test during the interview.
