Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Assist in creating engineering drawing markups for drafting that align with design calculation results.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Work with experienced engineers on utility substation design projects.
Assist senior engineers in developing detailed structural design calculations and analyses of concrete elements, concrete foundations and steel structures in accordance with industry codes and standards (ASCE7, ASCE113, ACI 318, AISC 360, NESC, IEEE, etc.).

Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Demonstrated interest in structural design, consulting engineering, and the power and utilities industry, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
Successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection
Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering with a focus on structural design.
Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering with a structural focus or related, Master's or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
Must be 18 or older.
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
