The Asset Management Intern works at the corporate office, regularly interfacing with internal customers. Core business hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with schedules staying within these hours and not exceeding 40 hours per week.
- Utilize financial models to analyze past results, forecast performance, and recommend optimization actions.
- Assist with summary reports for executive leadership, lenders, and investors.
- Perform market research to understand projects and their respective markets.
- Manage in‑place loans, track lender requirements, ensure debt compliance, and monitor upcoming loan maturities.
- Collaborate with Property Management, Accounting, Legal, Commercial Leasing, and Treasury Management departments.
- Plan short‑term and long‑term capital needs by conducting site tours with key stakeholders.
- Review operating agreements and ensure compliance with investment waterfalls during monthly and quarterly distribution processes.
- Stay informed of industry trends and assess their impact on the portfolio.
- Effectively interact with in‑house departments.
- Apply a strategic approach to problem‑solving and troubleshooting.

The Asset Management Intern evaluates hotel asset performance and helps identify ways to maximize revenue, improve operational efficiency, and maintain the physical asset. The role requires strong analytical skills and a collaborative team mindset. It is a part‑time internship and, like the summer program, does not include full‑time employee benefits.
The candidate’s physical condition must allow consistent completion of job duties, which frequently require standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and lifting up to twenty‑five pounds.

- Complete coursework in finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset, self‑starter attitude, and high intellectual curiosity.

- Familiarity with fundamental accounting and finance concepts, especially related to real estate and private equity; coursework in accounting and finance is a plus.
Benefits
This immersive internship program is structured to provide a foundational overview of four areas of real estate—Asset Management, Finance, Property Accounting, and Property Management—with a concentration in one of these areas. The design enables participants to focus on their interest while gaining a broad understanding of how each division collaborates and supports the others. It is a summer internship and interns do not receive full-time employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, or participation in the 401(k) plan.
