- Generates new work and supports proposal efforts including lead generation, capture, and qualifications.
- Directly and indirectly supervises up to 20 employees
- Planning, conceptual, preliminary, and final design of interstate highways, interchanges, streets, intersections, roundabouts, sidewalks, bike lanes, and multimodal facilities.
- Reviews and develops project budgets and has overall responsibility for project results.
- Serves as project manager for specific strategic projects or to fulfill workload needs.
- Serves as sounding board and senior advisor for both clients and project managers.
- Transportation planning projects for transportation corridors, local/regional, and statewide transportation networks serving multiple modes, and a variety of other transportation planning projects.

Stolfus & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Infrastructure and Planning Director with a minimum of 15 years of Transportation Engineering and/or Transportation Planning experience for our Greenwood Village, CO office. This position is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, curious, and highly skilled professional who wishes to lead and partner with others while growing with our team. Successful candidates will play a key role in leading our client, project, and staff development team for transportation infrastructure design and transportation planning projects throughout Colorado.
- Fifteen+ years of experience in Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering and/or Roadway Engineering.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling arguments and summarize technical information into accessible forms.
- Colorado PE License, or AICP Certification, or similar.
- Occasional travel to client facilities and project sites require the ability to climb ladders, inspect and be physically mobile in and around client construction sites.
- Position requires professional judgment on details of work and in application of standard engineering and transportation planning theories, principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria in executing a series of tasks with some variability.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited school or Bachelor’s Degree in Planning from a PAB Accredited school.
- Presentation to a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences related to transportation projects.
- Position requires ability to exercise initiative, judgement, and knowledge as required in areas of responsibility.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
- This position requires the ability to sit/stand for extended periods at a computer workstation.
BenefitsStolfus & Associates, Inc. provided pay range: Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. Base pay range for 15-20 years' experience $165,000/year to $195,000/year.
