  • Lead and support hydrology and drainage design tasks for major infrastructure projects, including light rail, metro, high-speed rail, highways, and freeways
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering processes
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, floodplain modeling, and stormwater detention/retention assessments
  • Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, design drawings, and construction documentation
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices in drainage design
  • Integrate drainage systems with roadway, structural, geotechnical, and environmental designs in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Develop stormwater management systems, drainage networks, culverts, and flood protection measures using Bentley OpenFlows, CivilStorm, StormCAD, and related platforms
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and agencies to address technical queries and support project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards (FHWA, Caltrans, AASHTO, state DOT guidelines, environmental and stormwater regulations)
  • Support proposals, cost estimates, and technical methodologies for drainage and hydrology scopes

  • Proficiency with Bentley design tools (MicroStation, OpenFlows, StormCAD, CivilStorm, ProjectWise)
  • PE license preferred, or ability to obtain in the near term
  • Strong knowledge of US design standards and guidelines (FHWA HEC series, AASHTO, Caltrans HDM, state DOTs, stormwater manuals)
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in hydrology, drainage, and stormwater design for infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering (or related field)
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainable drainage practices (e.g., green infrastructure, WSUD principles)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
