The role involves operating high‑level water‑treatment equipment such as reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration skids, cold‑lime softening systems, groundwater wells, remote stations, and reservoirs, as well as performing extensive laboratory analysis and maintaining online water‑quality analyzers. Operators also handle plant operations, maintenance, and control work, adjusting systems to meet specific demands, and install or repair piping, valves, and other components.
Additional duties include conducting facility, well, and remote site rounds, analyzing data and communicating results, participating in process‑control strategies as a team member, performing construction and fabrication, maintaining landscaping, and operating heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, trenchers, backhoes, bucket‑lifts, and dump trucks.
We are hiring a full‑time permanent Water Operator II or III for the Sandow Water Treatment Plant near Lexington, Texas. EPCOR offers a dynamic 24/7/365 rotating‑shift environment at a staffed facility.
Candidates must have at least two years of related field or mechanical maintenance experience, a TCEQ Class A‑D water license, knowledge of water‑system maintenance, a high‑school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A willingness to expand maintenance knowledge is also required.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in Canada, and able to pass background, reference, medical, and drug‑alcohol screenings. The selection process may include a technical or practical assessment, and the role requires good physical condition to work in all weather conditions.
