A company focused on developing sustainable solutions for recycling and reusing materials.
The Senior Chemical Engineer will contribute to a wide variety of processes and projects across Redwood’s business and locations. Positioned within the Plant Design and Commissioning group, the role supports hydrometallurgy refining plants and related operations while leveraging the chemical engineering team’s three core functions: technical support of commercial operations, development of new processes and plants, and research‑development for future recycling challenges.
In this position the engineer will collaborate with operations and maintenance to ensure processes are safe, efficient, and sustainable, lead cross‑functional teams that design and implement new plant equipment, and oversee test work, pilot‑plant design, flowsheet development, and the commissioning and ramp‑up of process plants.
Candidates should hold a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field and possess 5–7 years of experience in chemical plant operations, design, and commissioning, including large‑scale industrial processing. A proven track record of solving complex chemical and metallurgical problems, experience with test work, pilot‑plant operation, process modelling (e.g., HSCSIM, SysCAD, METSIM), and conducting trade‑off and financial studies is required. The ideal applicant is self‑motivated, hands‑on, an effective communicator, and passionate about sustainability.
The role requires the ability to work safely in both office and production environments, lift up to 50 lb, and maintain regular, punctual attendance. Work conditions involve a split between office and production facilities, potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes (with PPE), and may include occasional weekends or alternate shifts.
