  • Support fabrication, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities; participate in inspectors' reviews and as-built documentation.
  • Lead material integrity programs, failure analysis, and interfaces with process, mechanical, and reliability teams.
  • Develop and review metallurgical design basis, material specs, data sheets, damage mechanisms (corrosion, erosion, fatigue, creep), and repair strategies.
  • Stay current with advances in metallurgy and corrosion science; propose value-added solutions.
  • Review and approve technical deliverables (material specifications, MOC/Change Notes, design change requests, NCRs).
  • Lead the selection and specification of materials for process equipment, piping, structures, and components exposed to corrosive environments and high-temperature service.
  • Lead root cause investigations of material failures and implement corrective actions, lessons learned, and prevention plans.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, NACE, ASTM) and project-specific requirements.
  • Develop and manage execution plans, man-hour estimates, and budgets for metallurgy scope.
  • Provide strategic metallurgical leadership for FEED and Detail Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Ensure QA/QC practices, drawing standards, datasheets, and requisition packages related to metallurgy.
  • Mentor and develop junior metallurgy engineers; support staffing, training, and performance reviews.
  • Conduct and supervise metallurgical analyses (corrosion rate assessments, creep/fatigue evaluation, line-of-sight failures, weldability, heat treatment, heat affected zone considerations).
  • Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, corrosion, and reliability teams; manage vendors and third-party assessments.
  • Mentor engineers, drive quality and schedule adherence, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
