The role secures required capacities and lead times with suppliers and utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to coordinate material planning. It tracks and manages material flow to ensure timely delivery, defines the supply chain by plant, and issues demand forecasts to all suppliers. Daily delivery and logistics operations are monitored, and potential undersupply risks are identified and mitigated.
The incumbent coordinates with strategic sourcing, plant material management, shipping, indirect spend, NAC planning, industrial engineering, and master schedule functions, and helps establish regional roles for key components and inbound logistics. Transportation resource availability is verified, overall transportation arrangements are managed, and ETA/ETD are monitored. Purchasing requisitions are created in SAP or eBANF, transport invoices are reviewed, and correct product packaging and customs declarations are ensured for material handover in India.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration and has at least five years of supply chain experience, demonstrating strong problem‑solving abilities and the capability to work effectively with experts across departments, countries, and cultures.
Willingness to travel frequently to supplier facilities and up to three overseas trips per year is required, and fluency in English is essential; knowledge of German, Spanish, or Chinese is an asset.
