Contribute to core sustainability and climate-related reporting processes covering energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, and waste.
Analyse energy and emissions performance and provide insights to guide decision-making.
Assess ESG performance and provide practical, best-practice sustainability advice across the business.
Provide input into strategies addressing current and emerging sustainability risks and opportunities across legal, reputational, and operational areas.
Lead Downer’s responses to ESG and investor benchmarking programs, including CDP and S&P Global CSA.
Partner with Business Unit teams to support emissions data needs, troubleshoot data issues, and ensure reporting accuracy.
Promote sustainability awareness, engagement, and capability-building initiatives across teams.
Support the development of external sustainability and climate disclosures aligned to regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

A tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental science, business, accounting, law, or a related discipline.
Strong organisational and project management skills, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of priorities.
3–5 years of experience in sustainability consulting or in-house corporate sustainability roles.
Confidence working with large datasets; experience in data management or assurance is highly regarded.
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards such as NGERs, AASB S2, NZ CRD, GHG Protocol, GRI and the SDGs.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex sustainability concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking capabilities.
Understanding of regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand is advantageous.
